While running errands and wrapping up my styled shoot this past weekend, my husband and I made a pit stop to the “Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception”. I had never been there before (which is surprising given my NOVA roots). It was an absolutely breathtaking site! We explored all the chapels, hallways, shops and offices. Chris used to work at the store front there. I loved watching him reminisce! We soaked up all the beautiful surroundings and memories.
Chris’ father, Tom, also worked at the church. I can see how he loved working in such a majestic place. Every doorway opened up another astonishing space. It was fitting that we saw Newt Gingrich awaiting service on Sunday. I could tell that Tom was taking the tour with us. 5 years ago today…. the timing couldn’t have been more perfect! Although our trip was short and packed with tourists, it sure filled our hearts!
